You should remain at least seven meters away from these Apes. Visitors on a gorilla trekking Uganda are advised to immediately and slowly retreat back to five meters if the gorilla approaches you to about two or three meters in this way you will help to minimize disease transmission from human to Mountain gorillas & Chimps. This practice will also help to reduce stress and behavioral disturbance to primates. If above practices are not followed, this may increase the chance of possible future aggression towards tourists and Gorillas will become too habituated to humans kind which might be dangerous as gorillas will be much vulnerable to poachers. We kindly ask tourists to adhere to any gorilla trekking rules given by National park authority and to follow game rangers advice during the trekking.
