ITINERARY:
Day one: Arrival Entebbe
You’ll be personally met by our company representative upon arrival at Entebbe airport, and transfer to The Boma Hotel,Protea Hotel, Kampala Serena Hotel, Sheraton Hotel or Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort. (For those arriving earlier, an afternoon excursion can be planned to the famous tombs of the Kabaka kings, Uganda museum,Bahai temple and Namugongo Martyrs shrine where 22 Christian convicts were killed under Kabaka(King of Buganda)-Mwanga in 1886. DAY 2 – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
Leave Entebbe after breakfast for the fascinating drive with our guide, drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Africa to Kibale National Park just under the Rwenzori Mountains. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit (320km, 5 hours’ drive). Meals and overnight at Isunga Lodge, Primate Lodge or Kyaninga Lodge.
DAY 3 – KIBALE/QUEENELIZABETH PARK
Early morning trek for chimpanzees. Kibale is the best reserve in Africa to view chimps, a thick jungle with a towering canopy. In the afternoon, drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, sightseeing and game viewing enroot. Dinner and overnight at spectacular Mweya Safari Lodge, Ishasha Wilderness Camp, Jacana lodge, Kyambura Gorge Lodge or Parkview safari lodge for (midrange accommodation) on the edge of the escarpment overlooking the Uganda great Lakes and Maramagambo forest respectively(120km, 3hours 37minutes drive). DAY 4 – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Dawn game drive in Uganda’s best park, where all the big game can be seen in abundance. Famous for elephant and kob, expect to see some rarer animals like giant forest hog. There are 638 recorded bird species in the park! After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which connects Lakes Edward and George, for large numbers of buffalo and hippo (110km, 2hours 25 minutes’ drive). DAY 5-QUEEN-BWINDI
The morning is spent on a game drive around the Ishasha Sector looking for the rare tree African climbing lions. A visit to view Kyambura gorge is interesting! Later, Thereafter drive to Bwindi via the landscape of tea plantations (400km, 5hours 30minutes drive). Dinner and overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla lodge, Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge, Buhoma Lodge, Rushaga Gorilla Camp, Silverback Lodge or Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge.
DAY 6 -BWINDI-GORILLA TREK
Begin the day with breakfast ready for gorilla trekking, which begins at 7:30am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc. The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. You may see the gorillas eating, sucking ants from a tree, swinging on vines, playing and sleeping. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth.
