Wildebeest Migration and Gorilla Trekking
This 12 day safari features Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park, Wildebeest Migration in Masai Mara and Serengeti national park where you will experience the wildebeest migrate in search for water and green pasture in Kenya and Tanzania famous national parks. it also features cultural experiences and site seeing and not limited to game drive in Lake Manyara National park and boat trips in Lake Bunyonyi.
DAY ONE:
You will meet with our company guide upon arrival at Entebbe airport, and he will transfer your hotel for overnight.
Overnigt at The Boma Hotel, Airport Guest House or Boutique Hotel Numer5 (B&B).
DAY TWO:
The guide will pick you at 8:00 a.m from your hotel and he will drive you to bwindi. You will Make the first stopover at the Equator crossing for snacks and for some photography. Stop for lunch break at Regency Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara. Continue the journey after lunch to the vast rain forest "Bwindi", This is the forest with lots of primates and birds, you will visit local communities for cultural experience in the afternoon on a foot safari.
DAY THREE:
Begin the day with breakfast ready for mountain Gorilla Trekking which begins at 7:30 a.m with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you a rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots, etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Its advisable not to forget your lunch boxes as trekking might take between 2 - 10 hours but it’s well worth the effort.
DAY FOUR:
Drive to lake Bunyonyi for relaxation, This lake is believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa doted with 29 islands, as you relax, you will get to visit some of theis islands on boat trip including Akampene Island also known as the punishment island and its one of the most prominent island.
DAY FIVE:
Drive back to Entebbe airport for your scheduled flight to Kenya's Masai Mara National park and transfer to your lodge.
DAY SIX:
After early breakfast carry packed lunch and proceed for a full day of tracking game with your guide across the rich acacia studded grassland and rolling hills. You will also experience the breath taking view of the wildebeest migration and traffic which is termed as the “Seventh Wonder of the World” or better still the “World Cup of Wildlife”. From the vast Serengeti plains to the champagne colored hills of Kenya’s Maasai Mara over 1.4 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra and gazelle, relentlessly tracked by Africa’s great predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in search of rain ripened grass. There is no real beginning or end to a wildebeest's journey. Its life is an endless pilgrimage, a constant search for food and water. The only beginning is at the moment of birth. Estimated 400,000 wildebeest calves are born during a six week period early each year. Attracted by those huge herds are the predators; Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, hyena and various species of wild dogs.
DAY SEVEN:
After early breakfast carry packed lunch and proceed for the second day of tracking game with your guide. Virtually every type of wildlife is found in the Mara which has an extensive road and track network which allows for excellent photography and viewing opportunities, making it the best and most visited park in Kenya. In the afternoon, proceed to a Maasai village for rich cultural experiences with the local Maasai tribe.
DAY EIGHT:
Fly from Mara to Kilimanjaro Airport via Wilson Airport and then transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY NINE:
At 9:00 a.m. take the drive from Arusha (Tulia Boutique Hotel) to Lake Manyara National Park takes about 4 hours. After having a picnic lunch in Manyara, you start a late afternoon game drive, which is the best time to view animals in this park. When you approach it from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment looms on the horizon forming an impressive backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the ground water forest, monkeys leap from branch to branch, and on the escarpment, elephants stand in the shade. Other animals frequently seen are zebras, impalas, monkeys, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, and others.
DAY TEN:
The drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge takes 3 to 4 hours. Olduvai Gorge is an archaeological site located in the eastern Serengeti plains, in which early human fossils were first discovered. It has an amazing landscape that resulted from the same tectonic forces that created the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago.
DAY ELEVEN:
After breakfast, venture into the Serengeti’s wilderness corners for a full day wildebeest migration with a picnic lunch beside you, take your leisure while exploring this world heritage site, where earth’s largest concentration of plain game still roams free!.
DAY TWELVE:
After the breakfast check out of the Hotel and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, a stop over is made at Mto Wa Mbu Shop gallery for shopping then proceed to catch your departure flight back home.
